2022-2024
I have the very fortunate opportunity to create custom illustrations and co-design for New Orleans local nonprofit, the Nous Foundation.
I have designed posters, postcards, exhibit panels, gala invitations, social media posts, and booklets.
Our work together began in 2022, with the designing of the cover and postcards for their annual gala. The image is a linoleum block print of a eucalyptus tree in front of a shotgun house.
This work continued with the panels for the debut of their exhibit on 300 Years of French and Creole History. This exhibit features 12 panels spanning this history and is on permanent display at the Historic BK House in New Orleans, Louisiana. The photographs featured above were taken by Wayan Barre at the 2023 Nous Foundation Gala.
Shortly after, I was hired as the organization’s artistic director. Since then, I’ve created linoleum block postcards for our cultural center, various social media posts, the poster for our groundbreaking exhibition, Haiti-Louisiana: Tides of Freedom (which was also presented at the United Nations), posters for our 2024 annual gala, and the design identity for our most recent project for the Library of Congress, La Musique Nous Réunit. This project highlights Louisiana musicians that produce music in French and consists of a documentary, vinyl recording, and a book with interviews from the musicians.
